Welcome! / Forums / General Woodworking Discussions / Tools and Tool Maintenance/Restoration / wooden planes
i bought these today £6 from ebay the seller told me they had belonged to his grandfather, the seller was about to retire (65 years old) from the woodworking trade had been in most of his life, his grandfather had also spent most of his working life as a joiner, so they have seen out at least two trades men. Lets see if they can be brought back to a usable state and outsee another couple of woodworkers.
not bad when you consider they only cost £1 each and they where less than two miles from my home so i collected within an hour of the sale ending
Holy cow! That’s unbelievable for just a few pounds. I guess you just have to keep your eyes open for these deals. As you get a chance to work on (and with) these tools, please let us know how they come out.
thanks guys these tools come up quite often here in the UK thankfuly not everyone wants the older stuff, i know a guy (joiner)that has a bowsaw nailed to his workshop wall it makes me want to pull it down everytime i go in there, i’d send them over to the US if the shipping wasn’t so expensive.
Yeah in the US I have no real car boot or flea markets anymore with anything like this stuff. 🙁
