Welcome! / Forums / General Woodworking Discussions / Work Bench Height
I have had some lower back problems. I am 6 feet high and my work bench was 34 1/2 inches high. I increased the height to 36 inches and this seem to have helped a lot. My physiotherapist recommended that I use a step so that when I stand at my work bench one foot is higher then the other. I seem to remember looking at old wood cuts of men standing at their bench with one foot elevated. I am not sure if this is a false memory.
I know that Paul Sellers was doing some research on bench heights. Did he ever come to any conclusions?
I’m 5’10” and I like my bench to be 37″ tall. Paul has written quite a bit about it. Here is what I can remember
