Welcome! / Forums / General Woodworking Discussions / Would selling a WWMC item I made infringe on Paul’s design?
I looked for a specific statement on the website about this but couldn’t find anything—if anyone is aware of one, could you direct me to it?
To restate my question with an example: If I sold a chair I learned to make from a WWMC project without any significant changes to the design, would that violate the terms of WWMC?
Thanks in advance to anyone who has insight into this!
I’m not sure about the legal aspects, but just as with many crafts or art pieces if you follow someone’s template or design you usually want to “make it your own” by adding your own touch. If you tweak a design, add a feature, change a size or proportion then you are building something, “based on the design of…”
Use the “Contact” link at the top of the page to ask Paul.
Where legal matters are involved it is always best to ask the owner of the Intellectual Properties for permission.
