hi i have to use my hallway for my woodworking and i do struggle at times when making something large but not that large as i dont have the space to do it. what does help is to have everything up on the wall.
i will in clude a pic for you.
as you will see the hallway is quite long but the width is very tight.
please if you have any pics or idea,s please could i see them.
kind regards and dont let the space you have lose your passion for wood craft.
the bench is 5ft x 18 inches wide[attachment file=”20171221_193856.jpg”]

i dont know if your aware of using a bar clamp.
fill the underside with wood to give it some added strength
then place it in the vice making sure the 2 ends sit above the vice slightly and then you have as much length as you wish
i use the silverline bar clamps as they work well and are on the cheaper end.
hope this helps.
good luck12 November 2017 at 9:14 pm #364658thanks djenny

yes i was made in england.11 July 2017 at 10:14 am #313645hi paul
yes it is small but i get by, today the main work bench which is 3ft is going to be extended to 4 1/2 ft ,but its served me well and i have made quite a good few items on it now i could join the bench i made from a pallet but then i thought no leave it like that as thats my sawing table.and is where my sharpening station i made is, a fella i know that owns a grocery shop often gives me pallets not the type for loading items on ,to be deliverd to supermarkets but ones he uses at the front of his shop which are made for stalls ,any way,s i have stripped one down and got it ready for today once i have it standing i will cover the top with thick ply wood and that will ad a couple of mm,s lol no couple of feet.but nothing keeps me from my love which is wood,my misses is always saying you spend more time in that den than you do with me , i just said shhh and get used to it this is my first love, always has always will be.10 July 2017 at 9:46 am #313623hi every one.
i live in a 1 bed apartment and sometimes wish i had a bigger place but i could sacrifice a room my bed room would do nicely but i,m a bit o,c,d and couldnt handle all the mess,so i use my hallway which isnt the biggest . i bought a door thinking i can make a nice big bench out of it not to be the hallway isnt wide enough.that said i get by with what i have .at the moment i have 2, 3 ft something benches one i made from a pallet and i have another kinda adjoining table to put a few tools like a drill press etc. but i would love a barn or similar so i could have 1 nice big 8ft bench but not to be .- This reply was modified 6 years, 10 months ago by kenny moore.
