Gallery Goodness, 17th December 2019
This is our last gallery roundup before the big 25th. I hope that goes well for everyone, but right now we have some great projects to look through!

Three Legged Stool by Amir
3 legged stool. Octagonal legs. made from Pine.

Workbench by Wouter Naessens
My mostly finished workbench, 6ft 9 1/2 inches long, built from SLS construction wood. Inspired by both Paul’s and Richard Maguire’s takes on the english workbench. Still needs some BLO finish, planing stop board running down the middle and I intend to use holdfasts as I will need to work on bigger pieces, which I’m not too comfortable with holding in just the vice. So there will be a small number of holes in the worktops and the back apron as well.

Wallclock by Merrick
Common pine wall clock. Gift for the parents

Tool Chest by Gav
Toolchest for work, scaled down a bit and customised to the woodworking tools used frequently enough over the course of my work to be included. All the timber were either offcuts and/ or recycled . Predominant species radiata pine with some jarrah, western red cedar, hoop ply and a couple of random species I am not too sure of. I am not sure I would recommend the install of a drawer lock given the sloped top. Touch difficult to line up, but it got there. Didn’t want too much hanging or sticking out, the handles double as protecting batons as it is transported constantly. Managed to fit around 90 percent of the tools so as to necessitate not having to remove any for access to others. Finish is some left over bio paint and overcoat with Osmo oil.

Dovetail Box by Kaleb
A Box I made for my 5YO cousin for Christmas. I will be for her china tea set she received earlier in the year. Made of Poplar and finished with 3 coats of Polyurethane. My first time doing any carving work and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I also tried “dowel inlays” for accents and flowers. Learned alot and enjoyed this project immensely! Now on to the next!
