Foot Stool – Episode 2

With the legs fitted, Paul chamfers then creates an oval on each edge using the smoothing plane and spokeshave. Paul then cuts the wedges and glues the legs in place before cutting them flush to finish off this project.
Great video series and can’t want to complete with my daughter.
I hope to start one of these later this week, a very useful item.

this would make a great naughty stool haha not that my beautiful well behaved grandaughter would ever need one as she’s only 21 months old (but i have been asked to make them in the past)

What went into deciding to put no finish on this one? Working with younger children? The fact that folks are going to put their icky shoes on it? 🙂 Both?
Hello Ben, we don’t finish all the projects to video as we have a number of finishing videos separately. Paul has finished the stool since filming this video.
Great project. I am making one for my 14 month old granddaughter. Someday I hope to show her how to make one.
Another great project! I especially liked the scribing method for leveling the legs. A wonderful project to do with my grandson someday!

Thank you Paul for this project. Simple but uses so many skills and techniques that beginners need for larger projects. Now that I have the workbench done time to start a set of foot stools.
