This was an experiment. I’m terrible at drawing or painting, but not bad at creating graphics using a computer. So, I’ve been experimenting with Lazertran inkjet waterslide paper.
For the time ring, I used shellac over plywood to create a smooth surface and then covered the decal with a couple more coats of shellac. For the bottom frame, I transferred the image to the back side of the glass and sealed it with water based poly.
I did the profiles on the top and bottom on the router table but the rest was all done with hand tools. The finish is 3 coats of garnet shellac followed by paste wax.
The Lazertran paper take some experimentation to find out what works. Overall, I figure it came out OK, and I learned how to do better next time.

I wanted it for my office, but my wife appropriated it for the living room. I get the previously made willow clock for my office.
