Hi there!
I’ll send You an Email conversation between Me (A) and Veritas Tools Service(B).
This is not advetising at all! It maybe will help someone. This is what We can call The best treatment with customer. (Sorry for my so so English! I hope You will understand the point).A)
Hello there!
I have a little problem. I hope You can help me.
I’ve broken thread on Depth Stop Knob on Veritas Small Plow Plane.
By the way I bought it over DICTUM Germany!
It was entirely my fault because I cinched the knob with pliers.
Can you tell me Where can I buy a new one?
Thank you in advance!
Srečko HajdinjakB)
Hi Srecko,
We will be more than happy to send a replacement knob from here, please let us have your full postal address and we will get it sent out straight away. The depth stop can slip because we actually apply rust inhibitor to all the parts during assembly. If you clean the shaft and clamp with mineral spirits and roughen the shaft with some 120 grit sandpaper, the stop should not move.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
George HammondA)

Hello again!
Today I recieved a new Depth Stop Knob.
And from now I’m tottaly on VERITAS side.
Your kind gesture really mean a lot to me.
These days you rarely see something like that.
Thank you again and we will hear soon(just a joke I hope)!Srečko Hajdinjak
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT?
Srecko, we have a lot in common. I too am amazed when a company actually cares about their customers and tries to help. I have had nothing but good experiences with Veritas which I buy through Lee Valley here in the US. Lee Valley is actually based in Canada.
Thanks for sharing.21 February 2015 at 3:01 pm #124921I bought the Veritas small router plane several years ago. Last September I got a letter from Lee Valley. They’d added a depth stop collar and they wanted to give me one for free.
I’ve been a customer for many years and have never had a bad experience with them.
22 February 2015 at 4:54 am #124948The whole Lee family should be sainted for what they have done for woodworking. I’m a big fan.
