The only practical way to “fix” pitting is to abrade the surrounding metal down to the level of the bottom of the pits. If the sole of the plane is flat you are probably better off just living with the pitting or, if the pitting really bothers you, look for a plane in better condition.

I’ve restored some quite badly pitted and scored plane bottoms just by sanding them on a reference plate. I use a piece of 1/2” thick float glass. Unless the pitting is really bad ( not what you describe ) it should be rather easy and there is plenty of metal you can work off.
