Hi everyone,
I’m just curious about the pear shaped countersink bits we’ve seen Paul use times and again in his videos. It seems to be very effective and cuts in a matter of seconds recesses for screw even with the hand drill. I searched thoroughly but cannot find anything but these cone shaped bits usually provided with drill bits sets. They require a lot of downward pressure and don’t cut very well. Given their shape and material, it’s very impractical to try and sharpen them.
Does anybody know what brand(s?) makes the ones Paul uses?13 February 2024 at 3:32 pm #829049I don’t know what specific brand paul uses , but the is I think you are looking for are widely available from various sources as countersink chamfer and debarring tools.
Two sources that have them are harbor freight ( warrior brand) and Amazon in the USA in several price ranges from about $8 for a set of three to over $25 for one.
I suspect you get what you pay for.13 February 2024 at 3:48 pm #829051The previous post should read countersink, chamfer, and deburring tool.
Word replacement strikes again.

I had a closer look at Paul’s videos it has a round cutting edge end a round hole for on top for evacuating the waste. When looking for chamfer and countersink I d find only the ones I was talking about
