Not sure about the leaf patterns, I assume they are burnt in. They look a bit indecisive. The clock could also do with a little depth. Those are the only critiques I can come up with though, great work!
18 May 2015 at 12:57 pm #127226Yes they are burnt in but am not sure what you mean about depth, if your referring to the thickness of the timber it can only be as thick as the length of the shaft will allow and that is the longest shaft at 30mm on the current market today.
18 May 2015 at 8:51 pm #127233I love the pattern and the combination of scroll work and pyrography.
Well done!19 May 2015 at 6:40 am #127240Salko, by depth I meant the piece is quite flat, visually. To give the perception of depth, it might have been beneficial to raise or lower some areas of the backer piece. This is intended as constructive criticism, not insult, I hope you take it as such.
19 May 2015 at 8:35 am #127241Oh no I don’t take any criticism as insult just wasn’t sure what you meant.
19 May 2015 at 11:34 am #127243Oh good, some people aren’t quite as generous, and tone gets lost on the internet. What I meant was, having some layers to your background piece, or else some relief carving or similar, just to make it look less flat. If that makes more sense than what I’ve tried to describe before.
