When making the table project I found this quick fix for clamping the table top to the bench so I could use the #80 cabinet scraper. Many of you may have already used this quick fix but I wanted to share. A scrap of wood in the tool tray, 2 clamps, and my 9″ eclipse vice which has a popup dog. So a no hole dogless dog setup.

This method works well. One general word of caution when using thinner stock. If you put too much clamping pressure, it will bow the wood. That can be bad if you remove the bow with a plane. You end up with a concave board. This can also happen, to a lesser degree using the #80.
