I want to make a tv stand for my apartment as my first project ever. I’m completely green, so really any advice at all is appreciated. I tried using google for help, but didn’t really find too many useful resources. Could you guys please point me in the right direction? Thanks!
Assuming you have the basic tool assortment. scaling to fit the space will be one of your first tasks. I would suggest going over some of Paul’s videos on tables, bookshelf, or corner cabinet or similar to see what type of construction may be suited to your space. Open bottom style would be similar to the table projects. Then there are wood choices, prepping and gluing up pieces or using pre-made panels.
Enjoy the process.

I’m afraid you’re not giving us enough information to help you. How about two cinder blocks and a piece of plywood. Remember, form follows function. Think about what you want. How high off the floor do you want the TV? What are the dimensions of the TV? How much room do you have for the piece? Do you want a cabinet that includes storage (for DVDs or remotes or other items)? If so, do you want to see the inside of the cabinet or do you want to have doors?
Start jotting things down on paper (or the computer, if so incluned) and start sketching. Look at Pinterest, Google, and elsewhere (go to stores, too) to get inspiration. But do something! Don’t just ask a blank question and wait for a response. Tell us what ideas you have.
