Watch close and you will see some familiar things. I have yet to find the second part of this but this video can stand alone.

Gregg – could you post a link to where you got it? It looks interesting but I can only see half the screen. Thanks.

Thanks Greg. Don’t know why my computer doesn’t want to cooperate. I love the attention to detail, it’s almost unbelievable. How hard it must be to make full blind dovetails in miniature! The second part showed up on the utube menu, I believe it was the first item. The camera work was a bit blurry in the begining and no English translation but it’s worth seeing.

    Cheers

And for a change, traditional Tokyo joinery. I love how he cuts all the blind dovetails free-handed just with the chisel.

Paulownia looks like a very nice wood to work with hand tools.

Hmmmm…. That pace of work looks juuuuust right. Relaxed, confident in your skill and in your tools. Just the same way the tansu went eh Greg? Great video, thanks for posting.

@brianj…no not so much. Its was high anxiety punctuated by moments of alternating panic and relief. I said, “I can’t believe that worked!”, a lot. 😉

    Michael,

I find it not so easy to work with. It’s a bit brittle, quite soft and hard on your tools. The grain and texture is nice, though.
