Rockler makes a customizable branding iron. They are in US.
They make a plug in version that takes a long time to heat up for hardwood.Hope that helps.
NapEd,
This is what you’re looking for.
https://mazzagliatools.com/BlumStamp.htmlThese are struck with a 2 lb sledge on the end grain. Leaves a recessed background with raised lettering.
Best,
CraigEd,
These tend to crush the surronding grain if used on face grain. Makers marks are typically used on end grain such as in marking wooden planes.
Owners marks tend to produce recessed imprints on face grain such as saw handles.I haven’t found a good supplier for those that wasn’t pricy.
You might try “Infinity Stamps” for those.
Best,
CraigI’m finding some other names, too, which I’ll jot down in case it helps someone. I know nothing about these places and you’ll need to see if they are maker’s marks or owners marks:
Buckeye Engraving, USA
Chalco Stamp & Die Co., UK
Brand-First, USAOn a different direction, some are selling quarter-sized medallions that I suppose you would inlay or stick/apply. It looks like they are laser engraved, 25 for $15. That could be handy for some purposes, but isn’t what I was after just now. https://www.lasnc.com/products/woodworking-makers-mark-medallions-set-of-25
