For many years, I airbrushed names on T-Shirts, Hats, Car Tags, etc. for a living.

I no longer airbrush, but the skill set transfers easily enough. I engraved this script with a Dremel rotary tool(w/flex shaft) in white oak board. I know it is a machine, but I did engraved this freehand.

The oak is from an old pallet I found discarded. I left the oak aged and weathered. The contrast between the letters and rough board makes the writing very readable.

I brushed on 2 coats of shellac with a coat of poly. It should last the next 2 weeks.
