Dimensions:
• 12 1/2″ x 3″ x 9 1/2″
• 318mm x 76mm x 240mm
Materials Used:
• Solid Timber – Fijian Rosewood and CambriaThe molding you see on the base was the hardest for me but I conquered it in the end, I used a molding plane and planing the end grain isn’t what they are designed for. It took a couple of practice runs to figure out the best method of approach. I’m pretty happy with it I just wish they made molding planes with skewed blades.

Last night my computer got a virus, my cpu went into overdrive I thought the bloody thing would explode so I had no alternative but to format it and now I’m going to waste an entire day reinstalling everything. First I’m uninstalling all the crap that comes with the factory default installations, it would be nice if these computers just came with bare essentials and let us install what we choose.
16 July 2015 at 1:11 am #128548Salko, another great clock – you are a clock-making madman!
Really neat design. I don’t know where you come up with this stuff.
17 July 2015 at 10:30 pm #128587Really nice work Salko, this design is particularly attractive. The moulding looks perfect to me, no hint of the trouble you had.
Incidentally, they do make skewed moulding planes – or did. Hollows and rounds at least, not sure about complex profiles.

19 July 2015 at 1:29 am #128594I couldn’t tell you any more than google, but I have half a dozen moulding planes and they are all skewed. Luck of the draw I suppose.
Also, Cambria??

Chemical if you could post some pics of these molding planes of yours I would really appreciate that so I could forward that on to HNT Gordon.
19 July 2015 at 8:01 pm #128614I just got around to viewing this post and once again you’ve knocked it out of the park, Salko. I really like this one.
19 July 2015 at 11:46 pm #128622Thanks Derek I haven’t gotten around to posting online for sale yet but it may just be a winner when I do.
