Do you thinka machinist with a good milling machine could flatten the internal parts of the frog and the twin surface of the plane body? I will try : two friend of mine works as machinist… But if they coul do nothing for me, i suppose i should use a diamond flat file and a sharpy…
I have a replacement Hock blade , never used and the original blade.
Anyone knows where could i look for the Y adjustmnent lever and its axis?
Thank you.
I think they can help the inside as well, friends are cheaper than a machinist you don’t know :). I am going to grind my old blade to use on my #5 with a 8″ radius. The hock iron was razor sharp and ruled me out of the equation…which did turn out to be the base.
You can try http://www.antique-used-tools.com, Bob Kaune might have one, I got one from him for my old #8.
It might be helpful to take a video of the plane and show us whats not working before you punt it.
