Thanks all for the feedback.
Stoopid question warning – incoming…
Use tool – oil tool – use tool – re-oil tool. Is this how it is supposed to go? What I mean is, the other day I lightly coated my tools in 3-in-1, yet the next day I was rubbing it off to use those tools.

Mostly yes for me.
My “shop” is my garage in high Florida humidity, so I try to be vigilant in protecting my tools. At the end of a work session (usually a few hours) it takes me less than a minute (often less than 30 seconds) to go over all the tools I used with the oiler can. Some sessions I skip that step, and usually there’s no ill effects.
But tools that are used frequently don’t tend to show rust anyway.
It’s my tools that are stored that I get most concerned about. They’ll sit for months, then when I pick them up, it’s the worst to see rust on the bottom. The ZeRust has helped a lot with that.
