Joseph,
Same problem; stuck on June 16th until I clicked on the subscribe button which updated all to the 26th.
I’m also having a problem with video downloads similar to one last year. It’s taking over 3 hours to save the latest Masterclasses video. Normally takes about 5-6 minutes. Cookies were cleared.
27 June 2014 at 3:48 pm #58923Hey everyone, there is a simple workaround you can use to be able to see the latest content. Unless you are curious, I will skip the technical reason behind it.
As Joseph stated above, it is a cacheing problem, and that can easily be worked around. For those who don’t know, cacheing is based on a URL and the URL for the blog is “http://paulsellers.com/woodworking-blog/paul-sellers-blog/” So by changing that you can force the latest version to show. The easiest way is to just a a question mark with some letters at the end of it ?hello or ?123 or even ?qwerty will work just fine. (this is also why subscribing will show the newest posts…it changes the URL)
For example:
http://paulsellers.com/woodworking-blog/paul-sellers-blog/?abc29 June 2014 at 7:55 pm #58942The trick with the URL does work, but only if I use it every time (i.e. if I go to the URL without the ?abc then the latest blogs don’t show up). Also, I can’t read any comments on the blog posts. Has anyone else got this problem?
I’ve got this problem on my iPad as well as my mac with safari…I also have to use the ? at the end of the url in order for me to see new posts and comments. what i do is: to see new blog posts, put the ? at the end of the url of the front page of the blog. like this:
http://paulsellers.com/woodworking-blog/paul-sellers-blog/?
and for comments, put the ? at the end of the url of the particular blog post (NOT the comment’s url). for example, like this:
http://paulsellers.com/2014/06/is-woodworking-more-fanciful-than-real/?
So far this is working for me. I actually bookmarked the blog’s url with the ? at the end so that i click on the bookmark and see the latest blog posts, but this tactic can’t really work with the comments though.
30 June 2014 at 11:22 pm #58994Still not working on iPhone safari. Also can’t use the subscribe button trick as there isn’t a subscribe function in the mobile theme for iPhone.
16th June Groundhog day continues…
Cheers
Bill
2 July 2014 at 10:57 am #59041I have, finally, fixed the problem.
I am sorry for all the problems you have experienced.
Thanks for your patience.
Best,
Joseph
Working fine for me now too.
Many thanks for resolving this issue Joseph. System Admin is a bit like your domestic electricity supply: people only notice it if something goes wrong and never thank you when it’s running OK.
