Just bought my first round. Any suggestions on how to use it effectively? I can use it but am looking for a good technique to keep the cut straight.
Er, sorry, what is a round? What do you do with it? Perhaps you are the only one who knows, and that would explain, why there are no answers yet.

There are several good tutorials on YouTube to get you started. One of the best is a two part series ( the first is using a round, the second is the hollow) from Simon James that takes you right through the steps.
It’s not too hard to make a matching hollow,BTW. Just use the round to form the hollow and use Paul’s rabbet plane making method.
Hi Hugo,
Rounds are wooden planes that have a concave cutting iron used for rounding over edges, like for moulding and such.
