Welcome! / Forums / General Woodworking Discussions / ROUTER PLANES
Hi Ken,
How is your Lie-Nielsen? I hope you are enjoying it. I have always wanted a Lie-Nielsen plane. but never get to buy one… My first plane was a Wood River No. 4, a good plane, but it didn’t impress me…
Then I decided to buy a Jack, and ended up buying the Veritas Low Angle Jack, and I am very pleased with it… Went with Veritas because of the price, but then I am still wanting to own and try a Lie-Nielsen.
Next Plane on the list is the Router Plane, and I have always thought on going with the Veritas instead of the LN, so I ordered one TODAY! even though they are backordered until jan 29th.
I am still wanting to buy used stanleys No. 4 and No. 5 to restore them, but the prices on ebay US are go very high.Maybe a No. 7 Lie-Nielsen, even though they are insanely expensive…
Another problem I have is that I need to ship them to Guatemala so I need to add another 100 dollars of extra shipping and taxes…
but well, nothing compares on having a new tool in your hands that will last you a lifetime.
Best, Mario
Hi Mario,
I also was going for the Veritas, but is out of stock in the uk also. I’m pleased I went with the Lie Nielsen now though.
I have the Quangsheng No 4-6-7 and the 62 low angle jack, and they do the job just as good as the Lie Nielsen but at a fraction of the cost, I’m more than happy with them.
Very Best
Ken 😉
