Howdy folks!
Started a new little project for the house. A new spice rack…
Simple design that is going to use up some scrap wood. A bit of a dilemma tho, I’m not sure which is the best way to install a little lip to prevent the spice jars from falling off the shelves. I could either simply glue them on the front or cut them into the sides like an exposed mortice. Visually I am unsure of which would look best. Any advice/recommendations?

This would give you an additional visual element. It would also slightly stiffen the overall assembly. Just rebate the edge and ends and press it into place.

Problem is I am not going to have a lot of material left over after I size them. I’m only planning to have a 1/8 overhang on the front so there won’t be much room to get fancy. Once I cut the ledges to final size I’ll have another look tho!
