Looks great – I’ve got a bunch of #4’s. What type of broom handle do you recommend:)
9 August 2018 at 9:04 pm #550074@harryawheeler – good question: I was going to buy a new broom and take the handle from it; then I thought what would Paul do? So I ordered the oldest, nastiest turd of a broom I could find off ebay, spend 3 weeks fashioning it in to something barely workable and put it in to service…..
9 August 2018 at 9:30 pm #550076Hahaha – spoken like a true Paul Sellers disciple! That’s a really nice job. I already have a tool cabinet but yours makes me want to build another.
@jaimeclifton some of those broom handles look pretty fancy. Do you find the shooting board plane worthwhile vs. using a bench plane?
I like how you selected and handled the grain in the rails, stiles, drawer fronts and panels. Very nice. I wish I knew how to view images with the proper orientation on this site without downloading them. Anyone know how?
So, just what fraction of the speed of light where you going to make this seem like a weekend project? I figure this was 21 days, so that gives 99.886% of the speed of light for your rocket ship.
25 September 2018 at 8:02 pm #552314@ed – The shooting plane is nice – I use it alot. The Pmv-11 steel lasts a long time. There is also very little spelching…..
I didn’t really count all the hours spent: it was alot, over the course of a few months. I used a mixture of power and hand tools – I would have taken a prohibitive amount of time for me to use only hand tools.
Paul’s videos omitted a good bit of stuff relating to the finished product. Thanks for the remarks…

Well, Royal Mail has been outsourced…
The only time I have ever regretted having bought a Veritas tool was after having tried the Lie-Nielsen shooting plane.
