Great job Matt, Well designed and manufactured, A very ambitious project involving a lot of hand woodworking. I think your hand made handles really suit the cabinet
Just shows what can be achieved using Paul’s methods
Nice Matt
the sagulator (http://www.woodbin.com/calcs/sagulator.htm) helps in such dilemma…
It should last fine

Love it, Matt. And the handles really add a great detail. The top looks really great, too – crisp corners.
I’m not a great designer, but there is one thing that I might suggest. I love the curve on the bottom rail in the front of the cabinet. I’ve noticed many people reflect that curvature on other rails. I wondered what it would look like with the doors’ top rails also curved. Of course, that means grooving a concave curved rail and I’m not sure how that would happen.
Clearly it doesn’t need this since it looks spectacular already.
@mattmcgrane, yes I did consider that, in fact that was my intention at the start. I sketched out variations with each rail arched and a single curve across both rails, but couldn’t get either to look quite the way I wanted.
I think if I’d felt the curved rails were indispensable I’d have electric routed the grooves with a bearing guided slot cutter and been done with it.
This did get me thinking about whether you could scratch a groove in a pinch, something I’ll try when I get a mo.
