hello all,
I am converting a 10 x 14 basement bedroom to a small workshop. I am going to build the PS bench (have several components in process (about 6-1/2 feet long. ) and have an 18″ x 4 foot long x 5 foot high chest of drawers for small tool or misc storage, but also has 2 full widths drawers at bottom which I can containerize if need be.
Plan on putting up hanging wall storage (4 x 8) for chisels, files and rasps, saws, layout tools (fun mapping out I’m sure) but still need to decide on a front vise for the bench (Lee Valley has a few to choose from in my area)
May put a black board on the wall too and I have a small office desk for sketching or sharpening, etc.
I’m going to be searching for those ‘why didnt I think of that’ things and must have ideas BEFORE I get to far.
http://www.woodshopics.com/tool-rack/ ……….. I’m going for something like this Brian
Great idea Ken – I’ll have to go read in more detail. Immediately it looked like ‘skids’ that could be hung on the wall… I plan on using skids which will form part of my wood supply as I plan to re-purpose some of the better pieces for projects. (I’ve already built a footstool out of maple).
I like the plane storage idea on this one!
