Thanks.
I’ll probably mount vise just left of centre.
As I will use the same wood stock as Paul, it should still have significant weight.
Has to be a lot better than my current B & D Workmate 🙂Iain
9 March 2018 at 11:14 pm #494215Hey Bobcoz,
I was thinking of building a bench the same size as yours.
How is it for stability when sawing or planing using the vice?
I don’t have room for a 5′ one so yours would be ideal if it works.
Thanks
Iain8 March 2018 at 9:24 pm #493385Tonight I got the saw file out and had a go at this saw.
I used the method seen in Paul’s sharpening videos and then gently reduced the set with a hammer on the bench.
It worked like a dream! 🙂
The saw is now easy to start in the cut and cuts faster than before, without grabbing and sticking.
Result!
All I need to do now is remove the lacquer off the blade and I’ll have a saw like it should be.
Thanks to Paul and you guys for the help.Iain.
7 March 2018 at 9:15 pm #492528Plywood board screwed to wall behind bench.
Use it to hang saws and hammers and made holders for chisels, drill bits, pliers/cutters etc.
Still got loads of space to fill.
Dead handy, just reach over and grab whatever you need 🙂 And NO bench footprint.
Iain6 March 2018 at 10:34 pm #491486Thanks for all the help.
Gonna try Paul’s 2 hammers method then use sawfile to make a rip pattern like he shows on his blog vids.
I’ll report when done.
It’s a nice saw, just not very refined off the bat.
I’ll try and take photos of kerf before & after.
Iain6 March 2018 at 8:16 pm #491410Craig & Dionysios,
That’s the saw I’ve got.
Looks like I will be doing a bit of work to get it to cut like it should.
The back is straight on mine, appears overset and probably teeth need filed ( see pic)
Cheers guys.

Maybe upload photo of teeth.

Iain5 March 2018 at 10:07 pm #490792It’s a brand new saw, I think Paul may have mentioned it.
