Thank you Larry. That is also a very big help. I’ve spent years working towards tighter joints as my early attempts were rather woeful. I’m encouraged to hear that close enough is good enough. I now use a Lie N hand router to shave the faces of the tenon as per Paul and that is a total Godsend!
Many thanks, Terry6 January 2023 at 12:25 pm #785951Thank you Ed and Peter. I can take that advice on board. By the time I’ve got to the finish line, I always want done and that’s not a good thing. I will spend half an hour next glue up simply chamfering all the tenons to make sure there’s no compression going on. That’s helped me a lot!
Kind regards, Terry

18 February 2022 at 11:13 am #749194Hello DB. I’ve been hijacked by the missus to build a new airing cupboard so I can’t say yet. I can see why glue acting as a lubricant is important because, like making the bread board, all these mortice and tenon joints plus the panel interfaces don’t half clench together. I’ll post a picture once the project is finished. 😊

30 January 2022 at 4:50 pm #746643Last post on the subject for you George Scales: I’ve promised my Kity to a friend, who is heavily into craft work. It spurred me to buy two blades, before I part company with it: a 6-10tpi variable premium 1/2” blade for £40, and a cheap £13 3tpi 3/4” rip blade from Axminster. The expensive blade chokes up quickly and cannot clear the sawdust, whilst the rip blade cuts oak boards book-matching like a hot knife through butter, without tracking. Had I not promised to give my machine away I’d be stashing it in a corner. 🤭

29 January 2022 at 4:00 am #746606It certainly looks the business with the tools in! Lovely job, Matt 😊👍.

28 January 2022 at 12:44 pm #746578I spoke to the electrician. Three pin equals single phase. Therefore I know that I have to go for the 510. I’m at peace with that. 😊
26 January 2022 at 6:59 am #746290Peter? Shows how tired I am! Yes, I do mean Paul. I’m getting crumbs instead of wafers. I’ll go back to YouTube and check on Paul’s video, Barry. Thank God for YouTube 🤣. So grateful for the advice.

26 January 2022 at 6:54 am #746289Thanks Edmund. I’m in a quandary about which Felder simply because I’ve got 3-phase already in the garage for my planer-thicknesser but it’s got a three-pin socket and the 610 comes fitted with a 5-pin. I’m afraid I’m no electrician and don’t know if this is an impediment worth addressing or just to get the single phase 510. Have to decide in the next few days. Any suggestions?
Many thanks, Terry
25 January 2022 at 4:37 pm #746224Thanks for your advice, lads. Taken the plunge and bought a Felder. Can’t wait to use it.
Regards, Terry 😊
20 January 2022 at 2:12 pm #745591Thanks Matt. I will. I’ve had a go at fitting some sort of dust extraction this morning. It’s part Dyson, part rod-tube and part Nash PVA Funnelweb case. It doesn’t get more Heath Robinson than that. It’ll do till I buy a new machine 😊
Kind regards, Terry
