I am now the proud owner of an Auriou cabinet rasp. I was able to swing by Highland Woodworking on my lunch break and I was able to try a few different sizes and I really thought the 12” 10 grain was what I needed however I decided it was too long to suit my needs. I went with the 9”, 10 grain. It works like a dream. I dug through my scrap bin as soon as I got home and rounded a few corners off of some off cuts and I’ll never own another brand of rasp or file.

I may give the Auriou’s a go and see what happens. I don’t know if Liogier’s have right or left handed rasps, the only place near me that can order them doesn’t have a handed option. However Lie-Nielsen offers the Auriou’s in right or left handed and multiple grain sizes so I think I’ll go with a 12”-10 grain and possible a modeler’s rasp.
