This is an episode in a free series. Want to watch it? It is free to do so, you just need to log into the site, and you can enjoy this video and many other videos we think you will love.
This video will be made free to view on Thursday 4th August 2022.
Paul shows one way that you can add a fitting for the bulb holder to the base of the lamp. He uses a saddle joint to join the upright to the cross-piece. This fitting will vary slightly on the light fixture you use.
after five years as an electricians mate i feel very comfortable with fitting the leccy bits i wish i was as confident wth the joinery only time will tell
Thanks for the twofer this week. Enjoyed them both.
This was a wonderful series of videos. What a great build. I am an 81 year old novice but I’m going to give it a go. I’m wondering if there is going to be a final video showing the electrical work and the finish being applied? Thanks Paul it’s always a pleasure watching you work. Sometimes when I’m feeling down and troubled about thing or another I come to my desktop and bring up a video of you building something. Very comforting.
Tom,
This lamp project is several years old so there won’t be anything added to it. It will be easy to get the lamp hardware you need from a home center. If you have difficulty deciding what you need bring your lamp with you and you should be able to get someone at the store to help you select the items you need. I hope that this helps. –Jim
Thank you Jim.
I am in the middle of this project and a scary idea came to my mind: How do I replace a broken glass if needed in the future?
