Paul begins this episode by first establishing the angles to the front raker and the bottom rail that unites the raker to the back post. The mortise holes have a couple of nuances to them to ensure that there is enough substance to the material where other mortises will intersect the components. The angles are critical to the symmetry and so layout becomes critical for both mortise holes and tenons. It’s the step by step that simplifies the work and ensures that the two end frames are exactly the same.

Hello Paul, I was wondering if there is a list of raw lumber that you started out with before you planed and milled down to their final dimensions? I always have trouble trying to figure out what size rough cut material to get in order to get to your final dimensions.
Is it White Oak you are using for your final product ?
Thanks,
Charles
