Often it’s the small details we put into our projects that determine how well the result looks, and that is especially so in any uniquely different project. Adopting some details from the Arts and Crafts styling doesn’t make a project Arts and Crafts, so arching, through-tenons and such can become applied details as our decorative features, adding an element of surprise. Shaping for practical and decorative reasons is exemplified in these dining chairs. They are quick and easy to do and add to the elegance of the styling.
What a tour de force of craftsmanship, artistry, and pedagogy! I can’t begin to capture the gratitude posterity owes your body of work. While I have yet to reach journeyman never mind mastery, the tactile intelligence so far acquired through the processes you reveal has become a beacon to me in the routine of daily life. So much so that it feels trite to say but, thank you!
