Using the sub-wood for the main frame enables us to use just about any wood, including lesser quality or secondhand wood scraps. Whereas we could simply use solid wood throughout, the laminating adds greater interest to the work itself.

Paul designed mirror and picture frames that rely on more than the nails, special fixings and machined mitres used in industry. On the outside, the frames look like mitred frames, but inside, the facing composition are mortise and tenon joints to each corner which defy the concept of cheap disposability.
