The joints are cut and seated, so it’s time for the shaping. Paul uses a combination of saws, chisel, spokeshave and rasp and shapes rounds the edges. Once that is scraped and sanded to a smooth finish, it’s ready for assembly.
With the material planed and ready to go, Paul lays out the stopped housing dado then chops and routes it to depth.
55 years on, Paul remakes his first ever woodworking project, a simple yet modern looking wall shelf featuring stopped housing dados, plugged screws, homemade hardware and shaped shaped and rounded sides.
