Looks neat and promising!
I would be very grateful if you tell the dimensions of the stiles and show the upper corner in disassembled state.
Misha
The vertical style is 3/4 x 1 1/2 inches
The horizontal is 3/4 x 2 1/2 inches
The corner posts are 1 3/4 x 3 inches
As soon as a disassemble I will take pics
Thanks again.

Orestes,
Thanks a lot for all the information and the pictures.
At the moment I am making a similar construction. It is not a bookcase but the frame is very much the same. And your post made me pause a bit and think it over again. Now, with your photos, I’m not confused but confident.)) So, tomorrow it will be time for chopping mortises.

Glad I was of help.
Good Luck !!

Could you tell what you use for panels: poplar, plywood or veneer.
Misha
Used 1/4 inch poplar. I first tried plywood but it didn’t look right
Misha
Attached find pics of the poplar infill panels.
Basically jointed 1/4” boards.

Orestes,
Thanks for the photo.
Rather thin panels. Did you thickness (I suppose this is not a correct word) them with a hand plane or pass them through a planer?
Excuse my asking so many questions; what thickness the boards were when you glued them?
Misha
The panels are a fat 1/4 inch, pre-finished.
You are see the ends, I beveled the edges with a no 4 in the back to fit the grooves ( a thin 1/4 inch)
When I build the walnut cabinet I think I may use 1/2 boards, but I wanted to keep the prototype as light as possible
I appreciate your sharing the information.
Good luck!
Misha
