Fitting and hanging a door is universally the same, and these steps show the correct procedure for just about any size of recessed door. In this episode, Paul shows you how to fit a door to its opening before hinging begins, and then focuses on positioning, laying out and setting the recessed hinges into both the door stile and frame recess.

I can see how easy it would be to confuse the front of the door with the backside, and make a grievous mistake when mortising for the hinge.
I need to fit a door tomorrow, I have fitted doors before but it is nice to have a reminder.

Lovely work! I know it’s so difficult for you guys in UK with this pandemic… wish it was over and you had some help there to put the linen cabinet on the bench…at the end of the bench would still give a visual to the camera.
By the way, I don’t remember…is that middle shelf set back enough? I’m sure it is. Just got a bit nervous with the hinge being up there.

Lovely work as always, but I like seeing the mistakes. Look at the dovetail shoulder line at 24:15.
