At 3mins 10secs Paul talks about not incorporating a step on the top of the mortise – even though that might allow the top of the mortise to be visible if there is timber movement. Why does he take this approach on this particular piece of furniture as usually he recesses both ends of the mortice?
I wondered about that too – and why not do that on the under side where any gap would be less visble
