Thanks for the encouraging words gentlemen! This project was a sort of necessity since my tools have been kept in plastic tubs and and a couple plastic tool boxes. Not very convenient and I started to notice alot of dents, scratches etc on them. This project has solved that problem so far.
I should be able to finish chopping mortises and glue up the frame today.

Brent
Thanks Brent.
The stand is finished and all I have left to do is build the internal box that is going to fit inside. I just now realized after measuring that if I make the box and doors flush with the outside stand, the doors won’t open because they have to swing out….so it looks like I’ll have to make the box protrude out from the front the thickness of the doors.
The one thing I did notice was the mortises went really fast compared to when I was building my bench. The first time I ever chopped a mortise was when I built my bench so I had no clue what I was doing, I had to watch Pauls DVD about 4 times to figure out what he was doing. After that experience and building a few of the shaker shelves and just practicing on scraps, the stand came together in an afternoon.
I put some door pulls on the main doors today and placed the cabinet on its stand. Two panels for the bottom cabinet are glued up now and am going to work on the other two panels tomorrow. The weekend will be spent dovetailing them together and cutting a dado for the shelf.
This has taken the better part of a month and a half from laying it out on paper to this point. It’s almost done!

It took a while to finish up and the time consuming part of making the tool holders is finished for now. I suspect these things never really are finished as a person acquires more tools but for now I can say its finished and its time for me to start making some dovetail boxes for storing little bits and pieces.
The upper case is a little bit out of square because for some reason I got it clamped wrong, had a heck of time with that. First time I ever made anything this big and it was hectic gluing and clamping. The bottom case came together easy as I learned from my mistake on the upper bit.
This was a really fun project for me and I now have a place to keep my tools instead of rubbermaid tubs.
Finally some pictures of it.
