The sanding belt is clamped on a flat surface, as Paul does. No need for concern.24 January 2023 at 1:33 pm #788839The back is flattened for 1/8” or so. The abrasive is fresh and I’m moving to diamond plate after the sanding belt.
20 April 2022 at 1:33 am #756843Thanks. There is no rot on this door, just wear, age and the occasional quick opening from wind.
19 April 2022 at 3:01 pm #756768Thank you all.
I’ll try the PVA glue first before performing major surgery. Kind of like shots in a knee before replacing the joint.11 March 2020 at 8:36 pm #652740I have actually experienced the same problem with a couple of saws. I would be interested in some experienced ideas on the problem also. Just replacing the saw doesn’t help.

16 January 2020 at 5:55 pm #645154I got tired of the nozzles on the Titebond bottles clogging and sticking. The dollar store had ketchup and mustard squeeze bottles. Works great.
2 February 2018 at 4:45 pm #460535Very nice.
Are the rails for the lower shelf just notched and sitting on the leg’s stretchers?- This reply was modified 6 years, 3 months ago by Keith Szczepanski.

4 December 2017 at 6:23 pm #393476Since I already made one mallet, I thought I’d try the hammer that our mentor uses in virtually every video he has done. Until someone has done this for a while, they don’t really know what they like to use. I was looking for a guideline regarding a specific item Paul uses repeatedly.
Those suggesting that I find what works for me should realize that is exactly what I’m doing.- This reply was modified 6 years, 5 months ago by Keith Szczepanski.

4 December 2017 at 12:57 pm #393254Thanks for the “reasonable” responses. Since a weight isn’t suggested, and there a various weights available, i just thought I could get a suggestion.
28 November 2017 at 1:10 pm #385322Forgive me, I neglected to say that you would check both halves of the resultant 90 degree to see that they match.
24 November 2017 at 2:21 pm #379512Isn’t this what the 3-4-5 method is for?
Go down 3″ on a straight side and make a knife nick.
Use the 45 to scribe a knife line 5″.
The distance between the ends of the scribed lines should be 4″
This works with any line lengths, but the point is that the lines should end up as 3, 4 and 5 times the unit of measure.
This has been the method for centuries. -
