Sellers Home Bedside Cabinet: Episode 5

The dovetails for the top rails of the cabinet have unusual nuances that you may not have seen before, in that, when finished, they look like full-depth half-lap dovetails. In fact, they are only half-depth and have three shoulders rather than the usual two. Paul wanted to retain substance in both parts and distance one joint from an adjacent one. In this episode, we include the formation of tapered legs to the foot of the cabinet. This makes the appearance much less clunky.
Can you please fix the video download buttons? They used to have text in or under them to indicate the type of file (hd, mobile, etc.), but now are blank on Chrome and Safari. They function. It is just that the labels are missing.
Fixed!
Lately I just chop the dovetail recesses from the outside, instead of from the inside lind. For some reason I find this more satisfying to see how the end grain slices down with a butt chisels cut, and I don’t have to guess how deep I have to go.
Thank you! Looks good!
