Works of wonder, labours of love and undertakings of understated skill. Thank you everyone for sending in your work!
Winding Sticks by Erin Weed
Mahogany with walnut and maple. I wish my walnut strip contrasted a little better with the mahogany, but overall I’m amazed at how these turned out. They’re my first “real” project, and I’m excited to use them for years to come. I’m laughing though that what took Mr. Sellers an hour to make took me all day!

Changing Table by Sky Valley Studios – DA
For this custom heirloom piece I used mahogany stained a dark chocolate brown to match an existing crib. The style is a combination of Craftsman mixed with a heavy one-piece crest. To make the crest, a 12 degree arc defines the lines. The profile was routed on a table to achieve the same profile as the crib’s rail. The joinery was achieved using a Festool Domino, but mortise and tenon could also be a good option. Each of the shelves are 1/4″ mahogany plywood edged with solid mahogany. Severa

Used quarter-sawn white oak. To form legs I made a jig by drawing a center line on a 5″ cutoff from a 2 X 4, drilling a 1 1/2″ hole in the middle, ripping down the center line, gluing the two halves together, and trimming up with a plane. I put sandpaper in the 1 1/2 channel thus formed.
