good stuff
Thanks guys.
I think I may put curve on the railings I’ll see.
This a big project for my shed and I’m struggling to manoeuvre when frame together. May be tricky when glueing up. At times I wonder how I make anything at all.
I don’t know what came over me I went out in my shed and attacked one of the fielded panels for gate got it half done.
I went out at 21:00 just to sharpen iron on rebate plane. At 22:30 I got in from shed. Probably not the best time to play with a project.
Brilliant work there Mark. I have not yet spotted anything that resembles a defect in your work. Well done!

Heheh. I steal an hour or so each weekday night in the shop. Last night I was out until 23:30. No morticing work at that hour…
Thanks guys.
I marked lines with cutting gauge on face and mortise gauge on the edge.
I then took some of chamfer away with Record 0101/4. To make less work for no. 78
Then used Stanley no. 78 rebate plane with fence wich was on the limit and depth stop to make quirk.
Finished with Record 0101/4 to mortise gauge lines.
I get pretty good results using this method for doing fielded panels.
This is going to be a great looking gate when it’s done. Thanks for adding yet another idea to my project list Mark.
