I picked up two saw sets from Lee Valley, one is for coarse and one is for fine toothed saws. Both have bevel guages markings from 0 to 12. At first this was confusing but after reading the instructions they say that the bevel guage numbering do not correspond to the number of TPI. They said saw set is user preference and suggest after setting and doing test cuts to find your preference, you record in a journal the bevel gauge number for future reference. So basically trial and error and “eye balling” it.
