I really like seeing these clocks coming together. The skills you are learning can be adapted to some of the later projects we plan and that includes the tool chests. We have two we plan to bring here so it’s all prepping for that day.
Almost finished with my clock.
I think i will be looking for clockworks today on the internet (any sugestions?),
and then its finally time for some finish.
Personally i like Danish oil ,but my 12 year old daughter liked it so much that
this one goes to her and i think she wants some paint on it.
Let you know when it’s done.

Anonymous1 December 2012 at 10:50 am #4095Hi Juryaan,
You’ve made a very nice job of your clock case.
I could recommend a finish, but much depends on your daughter’s preference as to how it will blend with her decor. I’m a big fan of natural and stained finishes (Oil and lacquer), but not so much in terms of paintwork, because there’s a risk of it becoming unfashionable as soon as the next colour scheme enters the equation.
Paint choice and options beg questions in terms of intended location and existing / future colour schemes. By all means sand seal using shellac, but primers and paint finishes depend on the desired end result my friend.
Thank you Ken.
Just found two internet shops who sell clocks.
These are Dutch shops and i don’t know if they ship overseas but you can always look at it.

Thank you Gary,
I must say that i am pretty proud of myself .
I also prefer the look of natural wood above painted wood, but for this one i will let my daughter decide.
I will be making two more(one for my parents for christmas and one for my wife)out of oak i think and those will be getting
the oil finish.
