Good for you John sounds like your squared away. I am also a fan of linseed oil my self. I actually did the same thing to my chisel handles as well. And I agree take the good tips where you find them and use the ones that work for you. Not enough people thinking for them selves these days..
30 September 2014 at 2:21 am #118701I have a 71 1/2 stanley as well. I also put a wood base on mine. Seams to cut better and has less drag that way. If I had money to spend I would like to try the veritas with its depth stop.
22 September 2014 at 9:16 pm #106255Awesome job they look very useful. I have been looking at the ece blades to build my own saws. Does the bigger cross cut saws blade turn as well you you could get around an obsticle ?

26 August 2014 at 1:08 am #62913Thanks guys for your imput. It just seams to be the big tenon saw.. I tried it today while building some cabinets with some different woods and same it starts great but once in the cut it binds. I use camilla oil too. My cross cut carcas saw cuts like a dream same with the dowetail saw. I am just going to try another thousandth of set and see how it goes..
25 August 2014 at 3:02 am #61615Ok I thought they were set a litle tight. I will give them a little more set and give them a go. Other than that they seam to be great quality..
