Sven-Olaf Jansson, spot on! I’ve been scratching my head for months over this one, just didn’t see the ‘alternative player’ button. I can finally see the videos. Thank you 🙂
23 July 2021 at 7:17 pm #722181My Farrier uses a hammer like that shape for nailing on horseshoes, using the claw to twist off the sharp end of the nails.
11 February 2021 at 8:30 pm #700834A quick search on the net for customised hand stamps brings up a number of companies in the uk offering this service although I would think they would be a lot more expensive than just using individual letter stamps.
22 December 2020 at 4:51 pm #691278I use a 5 1/2 when I’m straightening edges as I find it easier than using a shorter bodied plane. I really don’t notice the extra weight.
29 October 2020 at 10:08 am #684148Have a look on eBay to see a range of blades available for different jobs. It depends what you want to use the saw for.
23 June 2020 at 10:08 pm #666767I bet you will get more enjoyment from using this saw than you would if you had gone out and bought a ready made new one. Good job done.
3 June 2020 at 3:42 pm #663991Look alike sets of wooden handled chisels often appear on Ebay, whether they are any good or not you would have to buy them and see.
This is the latest offering I’ve seen today:

It cuts easily and suits me just fine. The only time I needed something more aggressive was ripping up some logs that were not quite dry, but a chain saw got them down to manageable sizes.
6 March 2020 at 12:34 am #651959I think the general rule for sawfile sizes is that when the file rests in between the saw teeth, the cutting face should be roughly double the height of the tooth it is filing.
2 March 2020 at 7:19 pm #651436Maybe these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=pencils&_sacat=0
2 March 2020 at 10:45 am #651372I read this on the internet Uses. Eucalyptus is used for all types of construction, fine as well as utilitarian, light and heavy. It is often made into flooring or objects such as bowls, and traditional Aboriginal didgeridoos are created from eucalyptus logs that have been hollowed out by termites.
It seems to be a general purpose wood depending on what type of eucalyptus it is. Try sawing it to a useful size and that should tell you whether you want to work it or not.
30 January 2020 at 5:55 pm #647026If you are not averse to power tools, how about a small woodwork lathe. Happy “significant” birthday” BTW.
