When the puzzle starts with rough wood sawn by the lumber mill, it can seem a long way to the finished piece, but by faith, we pursue our goal, and deliver the outcome of several days of work, and the sense of satisfaction falls on us. We used all the principles of drawer-making with hand tools on this filing cabinet, but then added a new concept in carcass construction to add intrigue and longevity. From the hand-cut dovetails to housing dadoes and the dovetailed housing dadoes with mechanical properties, the challenges are all the more rewarding. We know you will enjoy watching and then making this piece, and the great thing is it’s scaleable, so you can make one to suit your space and needs exactly.
Typo in the video links at the word “caninet”.
Nice spot!
Those drawer fronts look awesome. I am ready to ditch the massive work desk and old rusted filing cabinets.
Thank you. I best sharpen up my planes.
As usual, Paul, a beautiful piece. Thank you for sharing your designs and knowledge with the world!
I love how the first thing in the filing drawer is the most important one: grandchildren drawing
