Sellers Home End Tables

Here is one of the simplest projects we have designed and made for the Sellers’ Home Living Room collection. Even for those new to woodworking, making one of these is low cost and not so high-demand as other projects. In this series, we take you step by step through every stage of design and construction and the result is a lovely end table for anywhere in your home.
I’m looking forward to trying this.
I ended up building a circle table, and after living with this table for a year or so it’s been great. Great project that goes by quickly with only four mortise and tenon joints.
The only change I made was I used figure 8 fasteners. The end result has he same aesthetic (in case anyone doesn’t want to take on the metal work). If I had more time, I would have created the table top fasteners like Paul.
Wonderful! Just what I was looking for! My workbench is just about finished. Perfect project for betraying it in!
“Breaking” it in.
Hi there Mr. Paul,
what a great project to christen my brand new workbench.
How much can you reasonably scale this project? I need to make a small kitchen table for my mother, and wondered if this would work. I’m thinking maybe as large as 3′ in diameter.
Thanks!
Jason
I asked Paul and his reply was:
It’s scalable for sure any size you want. It would be fine.
I missed him saying that. Thanks Katrina!
Quick question. I am about the build this and am curious as to why is there a haunch on the tenon. Why not have the tenon go all the way up to the bottom on the table?
Thanks
Bruce
Having a haunch allows material to be left above the mortise. It is there to provide the fourth wall of the mortise. This fourth wall provides extra strength to the legs. This is not unusual to this table but standard on most tables.
Dear Paul,
I have just completed this project. It was a very enjoyable build.
I loved the elegance of the beveled top and angled legs and shoulders.
Overall a lovely design.
Many thanks for your teaching, it is greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Pantelis
